The novella is the inbetweener of fiction, longer than a short story, shorter than a novel, and with its own rules. With more room than a short story, the novella gives space for characters to breathe, but within limits. If you have a short story idea that is bursting at the seams, or a novel that is struggling to grow, the novella might be for you. By the end of the day we will have helped you explore a story idea and kick-start a draft.
